ROMP- Kids Summer Camp

Romp with the Animals is a school program designed to develop a child’s appreciation and respect for animals, and to foster responsible attitudes toward animals and our environment.

The four-day program is held at the Washington County Humane Society twice each summer and is open to students moving into grades 1-5. The program includes field trips, presentations, crafts and other activities.

Registration for the program is $200 per child and includes:
• A Romp with the Animals t-shirt
• Morning and afternoon snacks & juice boxes each day (Participants are asked to bring their own bag lunch.)
• Bus transportation to off-site locations

2024 Dates: Session 1: July 22 – 25 and August 5 – 8

  • Romp is held Monday-Thursday from 8:30am to 4:30pm
  • Children going into 1st through 5th grade.
  • Registration is $200.00 per child. This fee includes snacks and beverages each day, a program t-shirt, all activities, and bus transportation to off-site locations. Children provide their own bag lunch.

ROMP- Camp Counselor Information


Camp Counselors are an integral part of Summer Camp. WCHS looks for students and adults in our community that are interested in helping with our summer camp, by being a camp counselor. The job of these animal advocates is to serve as role models to campers and to assist staff with tasks and camp activities. This opportunity has been designed to foster skills in areas such as leadership, animal handling, personal accountability, and communication.

WCHS asks that counselors are 16 years and older.

 

Though the experience is rewarding and fun, it involves a lot of hard work, all of which needs to be done in a timely manner and while maintaining an enthusiastic attitude.
