POLICIES:

All dogs are required to be up to date on Rabies, Distemper, and Bordetella at time of registration to be allowed in class. 

 

Prong collars, choke collars, and electric collars are not permitted in class.

A Puppy’s First Steps

For puppies 8 weeks to 5 months.  This class will get puppies off on the right paw.  They will learn to focus on their owners, the benefits of mat behaviors, loose leash walking, impulse control, sit, down, stay, and so much more.

Lifeskills

For puppies 6 months and older and dogs.  This class will teach older puppies and dogs the basics that are needed to create a well-rounded dog that you will be proud of.  From sitting down to focus on you, we will show you how to make your training a positive experience for both you and your dog.

Let’s Refresh the Basics

This class is designed as a refresher course for the skills you have learned in Puppy, Lifeskills or any Basic Obedience Class.  You will cover the basics: sit, down, loose leash walking, and more.  This class is great for those who want a quick three-week review, or to prep you and your dog to move on to the next level of obedience classes at WCHS, Beyond Basics.  Prerequisite: Taken WCHS Lifeskills Class or Basic Obedience at another training facility.

Beyond Basics

For puppies or dogs who have completed a Lifeskills 1 or Lifeskills 2/Basics class and are able to demonstrate: walking politely on leash, have a reliable recall, handler has reasonable control of dog, and can hold a “stay” for 15-30 seconds.  Working on focus and distractions through engaging activities, transitioning to minimal leash handling, and continue building a more positive, respectful working relationship as a team.  Course builds a foundation for Canine Good Citizen testing and eventual participation in canine performance activities.

Confidence & Enrichment

This class will help build their confidence while developing a relationship between you and your dog.  This class will be fun and exciting. From small obstacle courses to learning tricks and puzzles. This will be a time well spent with your dog.

Intro to Agility

This class will introduce you and your dog to Agility. Dogs will be introduced safely to contacts, jumps, tunnels and more.

*Contacts will not be at full regulation size or height and jump bars will not be set at competition height for dogs.

K9 Nosework®

INTRO TO K9 Nosework®️

For puppies and dogs 6 months and older.  Dogs will learn to navigate and process all kinds of environments through scent motivated activities. Using scent odors in different surroundings builds an excellent relationship between owner and dog.  This course also builds confidence, reduces stress, focuses the mind, and burns so much energy!  Crates will be utilized when dogs are not active in class.  (Flat buckle or martingale collars only, regular 6 ft leash)

INTRO TO ODOR/CONTINUE ON ODOR

This is a combined class for students who are still on primary, as well as those on odor.  Dogs will be introduced to, or continue to search for: birch, anise, and clove, in a variety of environments.  Prerequisite: completed Intro to K9 Nosework®️

$125 for 6 weeks

ODOR ADVENTURES

For puppies and dogs 6 months or older.  This class is open to any dogs on odor, regardless of prior training. We will be searching for odor in all of the elements (weather permitting) while exploring all the nooks and crannies in our facility.

Workshops

Rally Workshop

Come learn the fun AKC game of “Rally”.  First half of workshop will cover skills to complete a rally course.  Second half will be executing the course using the skills you learned in the first half.

Recall Workshop

In this two-hour seminar, you will learn tips, techniques, and games you can play with your dog to improve recall.  You’ll also learn why some dogs lose their recall.  Come ready to run, play and laugh.  Please bring enticing treats your dog doesn’t normally get.
