Certified Veterinary Tech (CVT)

Qualifications

  • Veterinary Technician Certification required
  • Able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the day
  • Excellent communication skills, be team oriented, and enjoy a fast paced environment
  • Candidates must be committed to treating animals with kindness and respect

Schedule

  • 20-25 hours
  • Must be flexible with schedule. Currently Thursday is our surgical day, subject to change different times of year.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare surgical list and prep surgical room
  • Anesthetize animals and assist with surgical prep, monitor anesthesia and post-operative care
  • Calculate drug dosages; handle and track controlled substances
  • Perform dental prophy
  • Draw blood for various tests, perform fecals, urinalysis, and run cytologies
  • Clean and maintain equipment, surgical quarters, and animal areas as needed
  • Complete appropriate paperwork promptly and accurately
  • Administer medication
  • Monitor daily health of animals in care
  • Keep animal medical records updated
  • Additional duties as assigned
